This resource was created to contextualize key points in Virginia’s robust history of spirit-making, originating with alchemy, perfume, and medicine, evolving into the libations we know and love today. This timeline represents part one: 1585-1775, with part two: 1775-1865  and part three: 1865-present launching later in 2026.
